About
Judy C. Mathews is founder and president of Community Interface, Inc. (CI), a general management consulting firm specializing in designing and developing business strategies in the areas of diversity and inclusion and organizational realignment. Founded in 1991, Ms. Mathews brings more than 30 years of management consulting experience to Community Interface to include: workforce and supplier diversity strategy development, project management, strategic planning, economic development and community relations. Prior to founding Community Interface, Ms. Mathews was a senior consultant in the Minority Business Practice Area with James H. Lowry & Associates, a Chicago-based management consulting firm.

Ms. Mathews has extensive experience providing project management and consulting services and has an in-depth understanding of supplier diversity including program development and compliance, and workforce diversity issues.
An experienced writer, Ms. Mathews was the principal writer and researcher for Minority Business Report (MBR), the first weekly public affairs program focusing on minority-owned businesses that aired on the nationally televised superstation WGN-TV Channel 9, Chicago. During her tenure, MBR was nominated for a local Emmy Award in the category of outstanding public affairs programming. She also served as an assistant editor, feature writer and researcher for the monthly newsletter, Citizen’s Choice, published by the United States Chamber of Commerce, Washington, DC.
Ms. Mathews received an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a BA in speech communication from Eastern Illinois University. She has been listed in Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, and Who’s Who in the Midwest.
She is a member of the board of directors of the South Side Community Art Center (SSCAC) and serves as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee; a member of the Insight Breast Cancer Awareness Advisory Committee and is Chair of Development; and is a former board member of the African International House, Sinai Health System and the Washington Park YMCA.
